EC certificate TH/15-1 Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus EEBD with cylinder
Product overview
Emergency escape breathing devices(EEBD) shall comply with the Fire Safety Systems Code. Spare emergencyescape breathing devices shall be kept onboard.
All ships shall carry at least two emergency escape breathing devices within accommodation spaces.
In passenger ships, at least two emergency escape breathing devices shall be carried in each main vertical zone.
The general requirements for emergency escape breathing devices are contained in SI 1998 No, 1012 (Fire Protection: Large Ships), as amended,
Regulations 12A, 25A and 34A, and FSS Code Chapter 3.
The EEBD’s required by the regulations should be type approved to meet the testing standards quoted in the Marine Equipment Directive.
Guidelines for the performance, location, use and care of EEBD’s are contained in MSC/Circ.849.

atmosphere that is IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health),
or any environment that is unknown or has unknown levels of
contaminants. This is possible because the wearer carries their
own supply of breathable air.
Q. WHAT SIZE CYLINDER DO I NEED?
A.For a stand alone SCBA, you need a minimum of 30-minute rated life.
This does not apply if the SCBA is equipped with an airline to operate
in the positive pressure mode. Smaller time rated cylinders can then be used.
